I spent some time in the ATL this holiday season and was captivated by the bungalows that are everywhere across the city. Atlanta is known for many things and to me....bungalows never came to mind.
There are revived historic bungalow neighborhoods like Westview....
Or new developments based on the historic bungalow model, like East Village Park...
And for all these bungalow owners, there is the Mission Motif where their expertise lies in the decorating and furnishing of these charmingly wonderful homes.
Next up.....Streamline Moderne in Nashville....stay tuned!

I live in Columbus, about an hour west of Atlanta. We also have a large number of bungalow/craftsman style homes, as well as tudor, most of which were built from the twenties to the forties, and a large number of fifties style bungalows. I know there are similar neighborhoods in cities around Georgia. I'm not sure why they were so popular, but sure do love them.

Glad you discovered what nice houses we have in Atlanta's historic neighborhoods! So many different parts of the U.S. are famous for their bungalows (like California bungalows, Chicago bungalows, etc), but the South never seems to get any recognition for them - even though we have quite a lot ourselves! So thanks for spreading the word and giving some recognition to Westview in Atlanta. :)
